AIt is with great sadness that Jim's Family announces his passing on August 30th, 2010 after a long and courageous struggle with medical issues related to his quadriplegia. Jim was an inspiration to not only his family and friends but countless others he touched over the years with his life changing words, his athletic accomplishments and his indomitable spirit. Jim's message of hope will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew him.

Jim is survived by his Mother, Hillary Wing Richards of Harrisonburg, VA, His Father, Jim Snow of Eureka, CA, his adopting Father, Robert MacLaren of Raymond NH, his sister, Jennifer MacLaren of Akron, PA , his Brother John MacLaren of Santa Monica, CA, and his Brother Neil MacLaren of Pacific Grove, CA. Please keep Jim's family in your thoughts and prayers during this very difficult time.

CAF was born after Jim's second tragic accident when three of his many friends from the sport of triathlon, created a triathlon event in San Diego to buy Jim a vehicle that he could drive with his hands. In the 17 years since, CAF has raised over 28 million dollars and made it possible for disabled people everywhere to stay in the game of life by providing much needed Prosthetics, procedures, services and support needed to engage life to the fullest.
