Hi Jim,
I wanted to thank you again for your participation at our recent conference in San Diego. I know that even being there was a challenge for you physically and your willingness to share your experiences in the face of the pain and struggles you were experiencing was greatly appreciated. I felt compelled to let you know that I had many people come up to me during and after the conference and tell me that your presentation had a huge impact on them personally and in some cases, made their trip to San Diego worthwhile. Not to diminish the value and content of the rest of our sessions; I think that people are so seldom impacted in a business conference setting at an emotional level that your message resonated with many of them at a profound level. I heard your phrase “each of us has our own wheelchair” repeated throughout the conference in many different contexts, and thought you should know that your story and the message that we all need to live while we are alive provided inspiration for many. Thank you for having the courage and strength to fight through and endure more than most of us could ever imagine. I hope you will be encouraged in some small way by this and the tremendous response we received.
Best regards,

Jim,
I hope this message finds you well. I just wanted to drop you a line telling you how much I enjoyed meeting you (we spoke about your appearance on Jim Rome) and hearing your story. Obviously your story is inspirational but you also provide ideas and principles that you can use everyday in family and business. I feel privileged to have spent some time with you. Good luck with your business and foundation. I hope that I will have the opportunity to see you again.
Best Regards…Jeff

"When he took the stage and spoke after playing his video, I don’t think there was a dry eye in the place. It was like we were in the presence of a higher power. People were absolutely moved. One of our people was so moved she could not leave Jim’s side.
I don’t know how long Jim spoke for, but he could have held the audience all night. His story transcends business; it’s about never, ever giving up.
Jim MacLaren made a difference in my life; I hope I can repay him one day."

I would like to say thank you for your inspirational talk that I heard from you on the sports talk show this morning, out of Charlotte,NC. while on my way to work. I thought that I have seen some pretty amazing people where I have worked for the past 5 yrs.. It is a camp for the visually impared, located on Lake Norman in Sherrills Ford, NC.. The actvities that VIP's do amazes me everyday ie: waterskiing, horseshoes, singing, dancing, & playing the piano effortlessly. I am so inspired by my friends that come to the camp, that in my 5 yrs. I have not used a sick day yet or wanted to be out. To hear you talk about your opportunities that you have been given to ispire other is truely a gift from God, and may you have many more years to continue to inspire others. Thank you just doesn't seem to be enough, God bless, Rich.
Jim:
Thank you for the twenty minutes of empowerment and humility you provided to me this past Tuesday. I have hosted my radio show in Charlotte for seven years and I have never had the immediate response and reaction that I experienced immediately following the airing of your interview. I expressed to you my admiration for the manner in which you have embraced a life that no one could ever fathom after reaching adulthood and your grace is immeasurable. We all believe we have proper perspective on understanding the frustrations of everyday life but I was amazed to hear from listeners that felt guilty for their trivial grievances after hearing you express your gratitude despite the circumstances. I have been honored to interview the likes of John Wooden, John McCain, Don Shula, Dean Smith, David Halberstam, Joe Montana, Tom Brady and Frank Deford, but I have never felt so honored than to have you share your life and dignified way you conduct your life. Thank you for the valuable and humbling life experience and I am hopeful our paths may cross again and I am hopeful I can reciprocate your gesture of time in some way in the future. The audio of your interview is on our website for listeners to hear and we have created a link to your website. Warmest Regards,
Gary Williams

Jim, It's been nearly 2 months since you spoke to our group here at the station.
As you'll remember, I'm training for my 10th marathon- Boston- and have been
dilligently following my training schedule & putting in the miles. But
here's where my story gets good... the 312 miles I've run since your visit
have been the best (in terms of intensity level & effort) I've ever
personally experienced. Simply, you have inspired me. And your message & spirit will continue to be with me every step of the
way... as I am donning your "Choose Living" band every workout & plan on
wearing it when I conquer Boston. My sincere thanks Jim. You have made an impact in my life. I hope we can
stay in touch.

Jim MacLaren spoke to a packed convention ballroom and his life story was beyond inspiring--it was exhilarating! Jim is a gentle man with the ability to relate to everyone, because the obstacles he has overcome, and the success he's achieved, has taught him the meaning and importance of finding purpose and appreciation in each day. He also wove facts and references about our industry into his presentation which made his message even more personal."
